GoPro Karma release date, specs: expected May or June, video teaser reveals drone flight-time of up to 25 minutes

While the actual release date of GoPro Karma has yet to be revealed by the company, it's expected to hit the stores during the second quarter of 2016.

According to a report by the Parent Herald, while the price of the GoPro Karma is still uncertain, it's expected to have a lower cost since it won't have a camera but could still work with both GoPro 3 and 4. It's also expected that the price range will be similar to their competitor's DJI Phantom.

As for the specs, there isn't much to speculate about, since the company has released a video teaser for the GoPro Karma around three months ago. However, based from the video, it could be implied that the GoPro Karma will have the size and functionality similar to that of a DJI Phantom, and according to PC Advisor, that means that the flight time for this drone will be around 20 to 25 minutes. As for the picture quality, that would really depend on whatever GoPro camera is attached to the drone.

GoPro has been flagging in sales for the last quarter, and a lot of analysts say that the release of the GoPro Karma is aimed to turn the tide and let the company recover its current and projected financial losses. In a report by the Market Watch, GoPro had undegone a series of flops ever since the launch of GoPro Session last 2015, and by making its price in the same competitive level as its rivals, it might just make it.

GoPro has always been the go-to device for people who love to go on adventures, regardless of whether it's on land, sea or air. It has always been a choice amongst sports lovers, as well as skateboarders and skiers. However, the company has always been adamant about GoPro going beyond extreme sports and has thus expanded its target market over the years.
