Google Nexus 8 tablet will be the first device to be offered in the Android Silver line, according to reliable tipster @evleaks.

Mobile leakster Evan Blass dropped the interesting rumor that the Nexus 8 is Google's high end tablet that is between Nexus 7 and 10. Thanks to @evleaks, fundamental information about the Nexus 8 tablet has come to light.

According to the famous tech tipster, the Nexus 8 will sport a metal design, which has been mentioned in previous rumors. However, if this is true, this is the first time that Google will offer a device with metal back plate since its previous devices were housed in a plastic casing.

Under the hood, sources revealed that the device may intimidate other tablets because of its specs and features. The metal slab from Google may come with an 8.9-inch screen display with 2,560 x 1,600 pixel resolution, a 64-bit NVIDIA Tegra K1 chipset paired with 5 GB RAM, which is the largest offered among mobiles device. The tablet will pack a 64 GB internal memory, and an 8-megapixel or 5-megapixel rear camera.

Moreover, the Nexus 8 may also come with BoomSound stereo speakers, which is a staple feature among HTC devices and one of the selling points of HTC One. Thus, this coincides with the rumor that HTC will take the helm in making the alleged powerful tablet.

Blass added that the Nexus 8 renders that surfaced recently were fakes and do not represent the HTC Volantis or Flounder, which were the codenames of the Nexus 8 tablet.

After the 8-inch tablet skipped its alleged release date last Google's I/O Developers' Conference, the device is speculated to arrive in the fourth quarter of 2014 the earliest. Previous reports claimed that the Android Silver line will be kicking off in early 2015. Now, the tablet is rumored to be released in October or November and may cost and may bear the price tag of $399 and up, which is a big jump from the existing Nexus 7 2013 which costs $239. However, the price is still lower compared to other tablets.
