Nexus 7 rumors: Phone rumored to release in the fall with Android N

New reports suggest that the Google Nexus 7 2016 will be released this fall, around August or September this year.

According to the Neurogadget, this device will be released alongside Android N, called Nutella by sources. After all, Android senior vice president Hiroshi Lockheimer posted a photo of him looking for the word Nutella in the Google search engine on his Twitter account. As such, fans are now speculating that the Android 7.0 N OS will be called by that name.

With this, it's expected for the Google Nexus 7 2016 to have this operating system pre-installed in it. This has been reportedly tested by a group of people who accepted to take part in its testing program. As such, the newest Nexus phone will have the features introduced to this operating system, like the new Data Saver, Dark Mode, display size adjustments, a redesigned and revamped notifications shade and Quick Setting panel, new settings menu, freeform window mode, and more.

As for other features, the device is also rumored to have either an NVidia Tegra X1 or a Snapdragon 820 chip, allowing it to support 4GB of RAM. As for external storage, with a microSD card it will have a maximum of 2TB. It will have a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, and all of these features are expected to compete with other brands' flagship smartphones.

In any case, its predecessor, Nexus 6, has received a substantial price drop lately, and now it only costs $180 even with a 13MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. This could be another indication that Google is already preparing for the release of the Nexus 7 2016 phone. However, the Nexus 6 has been released last 2014, so it might be possible that the only reason its price dropped is because it's not that in-demand anymore.
