Google Nexus 6 release date will be in November with Motorola taking the helm in manufacturing the device.

According to Android Police, Motorola is working on a device with Google nicknamed as Shamu. The rumored device is supposed to target US consumers and will be available at major US carriers. It may also target the markets that currently have access to Nexus devices. However, Motorola and Google have not revealed any specific details yet about the alleged smartphone and its release date.

The rumors also purported that the smartphone will sport a 5.9 inch screen display with unknown pixel resolution and a fingerprint sensor. The report added that the Motorola-made Google Nexus 6 was targeted for a November release date although this is not something you can place your bet on as this could change depending on different factors.

Google still has not announced which third party manufacturer it will work with this year in making its Nexus 6 handset. The previous Nexus 4 and 5 was made by LG Electronics and the devices became immensely popular that gave the company a high chance of bagging the project. However, there were also rumors that claimed HTC could be behind Google's next smartphone.

Meanwhile, previous rumors claimed that Google Nexus 6 will pack high end specs that include:

  • 5.2-inch full-HD, curved LCD display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass
  • 64-bit version of its Snapdragon 800-series chipset clocked at 3 GHz
  • 3 GB RAM
  • 13 MP camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera
  • Bluetooth; NFC; Micro-USB; Wi-Fi; and 4G

However, Google has not confirmed any of the aforementioned rumors. The company will reportedly release the Nexus smartphone in October and November although it is still unannounced as the tech giant still has a lot of devices lined up in its pipeline such as the Nexus 8 tablet, which is allegedly to be released in the same time frame. Thus, there is a chance that the two devices will be released side by side.
