The best and the worst in the National Basketball Association (NBA) this season collide today when the hapless Philadelphia 76ers host the defending champions Golden State Warriors at the Wells Fargo Center.

Golden State is currently riding a five-game winning streak and on its last victory (127–107) Wednesday over the Dallas Mavericks recorded the best start in 46 games, improving to 42–4.

Leading the charge in the victory was guard Klay Thompson who was voted as a reserve for the Western Conference All-Stars.

Thompson tallied a season-best 45 points, with five rebounds, one assist, and two blocks in 32 minutes of play.

Following Thompson is the league's reigning Most Valuable Player (MVP) Stephen Curry who listed 14 points, two rebounds, nine assists, three steals, and one block.

Today's game versus the 76ers will be the first of a three-game Eastern Conference road trip for the Dubs.

After Philadelphia, the Warriors will also take on the New York Knicks on Sunday before closing the trip on Wednesday versus the Washington Wizards.

Meanwhile, the 76ers' rebuilding phase continues this season and heading to the matchup versus Golden State have the worst record in the NBA, only having seven wins in 47 regular season games.

The 76ers are coming off a 110–97 loss against the Detroit Pistons in their game last Wednesday.

Second-year big men Jerami Grant and Nerlens Noel stood out in the defeat, with star rookie Jahlil Okafor missing the game due to a bout of flu. Grant had 21 points, eight rebounds, two assists, three steals, and one rejection, while Noel recorded 20 points, seven rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block.

It is uncertain if Okafor is ready for the game versus the Warriors but according to ESPN, the third overall pick in the 2015 draft already practiced on Friday.

The game between the Warriors and 76ers will take place today, Jan. 30, at 5 p.m. EST. To watch via live stream, click here
