Golden State Warriors rumors 2016: 'Dubs' prove they can manage without Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry sat out again in their game against Houston Rockets as expected but this time, the Golden State Warriors were ready.

After losing to the Dallas Mavericks last time out, the Warriors came out with a better performance against the spiraling Rockets, 114–110, in a game that could very well be among the last ones with Luke Walton at the helm.

Steve Kerr is reportedly set to return soon, meaning Walton's magical head coaching run will soon come to an end per Sports Illustrated. Regardless of what happens, it remains that Walton has carved a name for himself which could earn him a head coaching post, although perhaps for another team.

According to Fox Sports, the Phoenix Suns could be a potent destination, with Walton possibly replacing Jeff Hornacek.

As far as the Warriors' match against the Rockets is concerned, the "Dubs" did get a bit of help as the Rockets continue to flutter. The internal issues continue to suffice, although such does not take away the fact that Klay Thompson led the Warriors' charge with 38 big points.

Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston filled in the void left by Curry amply as well with 20 and 13 points, respectively, as the Warriors played with just 9 healthy players.

With that said, things couldn't have been sweeter for Walton as the Warriors await the return of Kerr at the helm.

For Kerr, it may be a tough act to sustain. The record of the Warriors thus far (30–2) has drawn a lot of attention and the main maestro will be a bit pressured to see what more he can do to ante up his team's performance thus far.

The Warriors most recently faced the Denver Nuggets, whom they defeated 111–108. Contrary to initial expectations, the game with Nuggets did not see Kerr back to head coaching duties but it did see Curry return to the fold after being sidelined for two games due to injury.
