Even as fans launch a petition to renew Disney's coming of age series Girl Meets World, there are already those who are already planning out the future of the show should it be picked up by another network, similar to the experience of other shows.

A recent snap of the cast of Girl Meets World combined with the original cast of Boy Meets World has led some supporters to conclude that if Disney chooses to end the series as the gang is about to leave high school, it will be picked up by Freeform.

It can be recalled that Boy Meets World, which spawned the current Disney series, originally aired on ABC, now Freeform.

Meanwhile, the petition to renew the show on Disney currently has so far garnered over 45,000 signatures on the change.org site.

When it does continue the journey of Maya, Riley and the rest of the gang, it is expected that there will be some trouble in Riley and Lucas' relationship and there will be a revival of the triangle among Maya, Lucas and Riley since Lucas will have a tendency to run to Maya when they run into problems.

Since the characters will be moving out of high school, relationships are bound to be more complicated, hinting that Maya will have to deal with some romantic issues of her own, mainly in dealing with one of her crushes Josh, who has returned for the series' third season.

Another possible romantic interest is Zay, one of the gang's long time friends who may also find himself liking the free spirited Maya.

Meanwhile, Rowan Blanchard, who plays the character, said that nothing is final yet but allayed fears that there is tension among the cast.

"The cast and I love each other more than anything, we all have had a hard time this week because of it being our possible last week. It has only been hugging and reminiscing and loving each other. We will continue to only love each other," she said.
