Star Wars: Battlefront , Destiny: The Taken King, Final Fantasy XV - Top 3 games at Gamescom 2015

Gaming enthusiasts who followed this year's Gamescom event were not surprised with the announcements made during the convention since many of the big names on the list have also made their presence known first at the Electronic Entertainment Expo last June.

However, this doesn't mean that the developers and publishers had nothing new to offer. Aside from playable demos of upcoming titles, new information were also announced, and the list of the most anticipated upcoming games itself is formidable.

Star Wars: Battlefront

Perhaps the biggest name on the most-anticipated list, the title made an impressive display at this year's E3 event, and continued on during the recently-concluded Gamescom by opening a playable demo for the Battle of Hoth multiplayer and unveiling a new Fighter Squadron game mode, placing players right into X-Wing and Tie Fighter aerial battles. Electronic Arts is boosting the hype for the game prior to its Nov. 17 release date.

Destiny: The Taken King

Although "The Taken King" is just an expansion for Bungie's space-age shooter "Destiny," the developer said that the third DLC's new features and updated changes are massive enough that players could mistaken it for a new game. Featuring new gears and items, a much higher level cap, and a new race of enemies and additional location, "The Taken King" is expected to take "Destiny" to a whole new level of experience.

The third DLC will arrive next month.

Final Fantasy XV

The next installment in the "Final Fantasy" game series has achieved fabled status, with the development taking at least a decade. Although Square Enix still has to announce the specific release date, speculations place the rollout for the title to be some time next year. The publisher has also shared background details about the title's story, rolled out a new trailer, and showcased the upcoming title's gameplay.
