Apple has now unveiled its latest iPhone models, and many fans, industry observers especially, cannot help but ask – how will Apple's new iPhone 6s fare against other flagships from competitors, particularly Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S7?

Since Samsung is keeping mum about the Galaxy S7, there are only rumors and speculations about the flagship's features and specs that can be used to compare it to the now-confirmed 6s.

Apple released its next-gen iterations as follow-ups to their predecessors, so the company now has two variants: the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Meanwhile, it is rumored that Samsung will be directly competing with Apple in this arena and will also come out with two S7 versions. Reportedly, the Galaxy S7 will come with a 5.1-inch version and a larger 5.5-inch variant.

In terms of display, Apple opted to retain its 4.7-inch display for the 6s, with Retina Display and a 1334 x 750 resolution at 326 ppi. However, the Cupertino-based company integrated a new feature to its new flagships – 3D Touch. Much like the Force Touch on the Apple Watch, the new feature will differentiate between a hard press and a soft tap, and will unlock more app and device options.

Meanwhile, Samsung is rumored to focus more on brightness and aesthetics when it comes to its Galaxy S7 screen. Allegedly, the upcoming flagship will ditch the Edge screen of its predecessor and will instead provide a Super AMOLED display with a stunning 4K resolution. While just a rumor for now, a 4K resolution in a Samsung smartphone is not too far fetched since its competitor Sony has already integrated the feature in the Z5 Premium.

For performance, the iPhone 6s is upgraded with a newer A9 chipset and reportedly, up to 2 GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the upcoming Galaxy S7 is rumored to carry a powerful, much newer Snapdragon 820 processor partnered with 4 GB of RAM.
