Long-time associate and trainer Resituto 'Buboy' Fernandez says that undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be in for a tough fight when he faces Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao this coming May 2, 2015 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Fernandez shared his thought in an article over at boxingscene.com. In the same article, Fernandez explains how Pacquiao's hastiness led to his fall against Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez in what he says was a move to end the fight in a convincing manner.

To recall, Pacquiao was knocked out by Marquez at that time but has since fought his way back to form. Aside from that, Fernandez adds that the Filipino lawmaker is now mature in making decisions but is deadly once he gets his flurry of punches to work.

Proof to that was Fernandez himself was victim to Pacquiao's punches during a punch mitt section where he got caught by a left upper cut. All that despite a more controlled set of punches, Fernandez admits that such hits coming from a fighter like Manny Pacquiao are bound to break anyone. Mayweather is no exception.

With critics believing that Mayweather's defense is something to worry about when the two fighters meet, a small window of opportunity could make a difference. And once Pacquiao does connect, that could spell trouble for the undefeated fighter.

The question of maturity though is put into question. Mayweather is a master of breaking the confidence level of his opponents, leading them to resort to aggressive tactics which may leave them open for key hits from the American boxer.

Can Pacquiao's morale and patience hold up? The fight is expected to be a battle of tactics although if an opportunity to go for a knockout arises, both fighters could very well go for it.
