Floyd Mayweather vs Andre Berto fight news 2015: Berto believes he can KO Mayweather

Andre Berto is nearing perhaps the biggest fight of his career this coming September 12, 2015 when he faces Floyd Mayweather Jr. and the former world champion is still upbeat that he can put up a good show.

Sadly that is not the consensus of the majority of boxing fans, many of which believe that it will be an easy victory for Mayweather as he goes for the 49-0 record which would allow him to tie Rocky Marciano.

Despite the odds, Berto remains upbeat. He believes he has the speed and ability to deal Mayweather a knockout, something he brags can be seen from his past fights.

"I got the power that I bring to the table that can [knock him out]. Check my record. I have the power, I have the speed to get it done….It's just about staying consistent and staying focused, believing that you can get it done," says Berto in an interview with Boxingscene.com.

Berto seems to be pretty confident about his chances though he may want to look back at Mayweather's past opponents. A lot of the past foes Floyd Jr. faced held better credentials and had the speed and power to flatten the undefeated American but failed.

Further, Berto may have overlooked one thing – that of which is the fact that Mayweather focuses on his defense that has been successful so far in waylaying other boxers before him.

Thus, speed and power may not be the only ones that Berto would need to possibly pull out the greatest upset in boxing history this coming September. It includes having a game plan that will keep him tow with Mayweather.

With little time left, it would be wise for Berto to work on his conditioning. The fight could go the distance and if Berto fades, he will likely be the one knocked out.

As far as odds are concerned, Odds Shark has it 30-1 to 100-1 for Mayweather.
