The new "Criminal Activity" expansion pack for premier shooter "Battlefield Hardline" will be packed with new content, more weapons and vehicles specifically, that developer Visceral Games hopes would bring added excitement to gamers.

According to the announcement on the official "Battlefield" blog, the new expansion is just a part of four DLC packs that would greatly expand the "Battlefield Hardline" title.

It says: "We are approaching each of four expansion packs in different ways as they are story-themed and the maps, mode, weapons and combat have to fit into that play style. With 'Battlefield Hardline: Criminal Activity', the theme is fast-paced, infantry combat as the cops and criminals are fighting for or preventing small time crime jobs. This also means weapons and attachments suited for close quarters."

All in all, there will be five new weapons that players can choose from. In addition to familiar weapons already included in the game, the "Criminal Activity" expansion will re-introduce the classic submachine gun. This weapon is available for any class, and limited customization is also possible.

Each faction will also have its choice of new weapons. For cops on the Enforcer class, the new DLC will add a new pump action bullpup shotgun and a new assault rifle in their arsenal. The shotgun holds 14 rounds of buckshot and is indispensable in close quarters battle, especially for clearing indoor stages. The new shotgun can also disable sabotaged doors.

Meanwhile, the new assault rifle incorporates cutting-edge technology in its redesign, and custom items are also available that makes this weapon effective in both mid- to long-range combat.

The criminal faction also has its own battle rifle that can be customized to suit both mid- and long-range shooters.

Aside from new weapons, two new cars will also be added. The Low Rider, a sedan transport car, is designed with a classic '60s look. The Pick-up Truck, on the other hand, can carry all the members of the squad in almost all types of terrain.
