As the zombie apocalypse breaks out, viewers will see the National Guards as they make their presence felt in the upcoming episode of AMC series "Fear the Walking Dead."

In "Not Fade Away," TV Guide reports that Travis and the rest of his family have no choice but to adjust to the new world they are now in — a place they cohabit with the undead. In their neighborhood, he and Madison (Kim Dickens) will witness how the government is trying to take charge of the chaos.

The National Guards are everywhere, trying to make true of their sworn job to protect the people. However, the two cannot help but notice a different side of them in this unfortunate event. What could have Travis and Madison seen that surprised them about the guards?

Last episode, Travis, his ex-wife Liza (Elizabeth Rodriguez) and son Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie) were trying to ride out a riot inside a barber shop owned by their friends. They soon found out, however, that their hiding place was on fire, which forced them to go and face the chaos outside. Luckily, they found their truck unscathed amidst the unrest and they navigated their way slowly out of the community.

On the radio, they heard that a state of emergency has been declared and the National Guard has been called in. Zombies were everywhere, and the police's guns were proven ineffective against them. Suddenly, all of Los Angeles went dark, neighborhood by neighborhood, until everything was pitch black.

In Madison's house, a zombie was able to break in and ate the dog. Luckily, Madison and her children were outside at that time and safe. When Travis finally arrived home, he encountered the zombie, but managed to kill the creature. Madison was considering killing their neighbor who has been turned into a brain eater, but Travis told her no. As they drove out of the area, they saw the National Guard unhesitatingly put a single bullet on the zombie's brain.

"Fear the Walking Dead" episode 4 will air on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 9 p.m. EST on AMC.
