"Furious 7" is by far the most successful in the "Fast & Furious" franchise. It scooped up $1.5 billion worldwide and is hailed as the fifth highest grossing film of all time. Due to this phenomenal success, the announcement of a sequel did not really surprise anyone.

"Fast & Furious 8" will be the first film in the blockbuster series without Paul Walker, who played Brian O'Conner in each installment. However, rumor has it that female stars are being tapped to, in a way, fill the void left by the late actor who died in a car accident two years ago.

As of now, there are reportedly three big names in consideration, the first of which is Angelina Jolie. Michelle Rodriguez, one of the main stars of "F&F franchise, told Entertainment Tonight that with her "dream co-star" around, the film "would be sexy."

There's also word that Australian model and "Orange is the New Black" star Ruby Rose will be a great fit in the explosion-filled, car-centric franchise. As per Movie News Guide, the actress is in talks with the people behind the upcoming movie for a role. Whether or not she will be hanging out with the Toretto gang soon remains to be seen.

Lastly, there are speculations that award-winning British actress Dame Helen Mirren is eyeing a role in "Fast & Furious 8." There aren't too many details about this but Vin Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto in the movies, has allegedly stated that there is a spot for the 69-year-old actress in the highly-anticipated film.

On top of the possibility of seeing one of these three ladies in action, there are also speculations about the return of Eva Mendes as U.S. Customs Agent Monica Fuentes. Walker's brothers who filled in for him in the scenes he wasn't able to shoot are also expected to be on board.

"Fast & Furious 8" will be shown in theaters starting April14, 2017.
