It looks like fans of the award-winning FX series "Fargo" will have to wait a little longer, as its third season will likely premiere spring of 2017.

Show creator Noah Hawley recently announced during a conference call with the press that they do not have time to film this winter season. "Fargo" is supposed to be winter show, but the creative team behind just could not handle the production at this time of the year. Hence, it is going to be a long wait until the next installment comes out.

According to Collider, Hawley said that they would start filming November 2016 in Calgary. He reiterated that he and the producers see no problem in taking their sweet time, as they want to make sure the writing process is separated from the production. The writers are reportedly taking eight to 10 hours a day to make sure they have covered everything in the plot.

Aside from the release date, Hawley also hinted that the new characters of the series would be the focus of the storylines. He cleared up that almost none of the season 1 cast would reappear in the series, and if they do, they would not be playing large roles. He said that there would be a lot of plot intersections among the new and old characters for season 3.

"The danger of bringing season 1 characters back for another crazy case, it makes the artifice too clear. Suddenly it just feels like we're doing because it's fun and we like these characters. But we'd be breaking our own rules," he explained.

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly reports that the new season will be set a couple of years after the season 1, which took place in 2006. Hawley specifically said that it will take place in 2010 and would have a more modernistic feel to it.
