Freda (Bre-Z) and Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) will face off in a rap battle in the upcoming episode of the hit FOX series "Empire."

In "My Bad Parts," CarterMatt reports that the showdown will take place after Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) and Lucious (Terrence Howard) make a bet with each other on who will get their son. This entire season, Cookie and Hakeem have been busy building up their new company, Lyon Dynasty, in competition with Empire. For his part, Lucious is tired of seeing his son's angst directed at him and will finally make a move. He will ask his protégé to infuriate Hakeem by telling him in her rap she is the heir to his father's music label. The young Lyon is reportedly pissed, as he fires back with a rap that can potentially destroy Empire's reputation. What will Hakeem divulge?

Meanwhile, Jamal (Jussie Smollett) is busy looking for a big sponsorship deal when Lucious confronts him about his continued association with Cookie. In the past, his mother helped him with his latest song. Although Jamal knows Lucious will be angry at him, he still turns to Cookie for assistance once in a while. It now appears that Lucious knows about it and will ask Jamal to choose between working with him or with Cookie. What will be his decision?

Also in episode 8, Cookie and her new boyfriend Laz (Adam Rodriguez) will be involved in a confrontation with Hakeem. The promo shows the teenager telling Laz he is the one causing problem in their family. The older man will retaliate by shoving Hakeem, which Cookie has the misfortune to witness. Angry that Laz dares to hurt her son, Cookie will slap him and will tell him to never do it again. Will she finally learn that he is part of the gang who kidnapped Hakeem?

"Empire" season 2 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on FOX.
