Morland (John Noble) will try to get on the good side of Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) in the upcoming episode of the CBS series "Elementary."
In "The Cost of Doing Business," TV Guide reports that the older Holmes will be helping out his son and Joan (Lucy Liu) in solving a case they were working on together. Morland will reportedly act as one of Sherlock's "Irregular" consultants, although how that will work out is still a big question. Ever since Morland's return, father and son have been frosty with each other. Sherlock still has not forgiven him for sending him to rehab and being the absent father for most of his life.
For his part, Morland wants to make amends and he is prepared to do anything just so Sherlock can forgive him. While most of his attempts were stonewalled by Sherlock, this time, he will try to assist his son in business. Will Morland's contribution help Sherlock and Lucy unlock the case they are working on? And if so, will this soften the younger Holmes' heart towards his earnest father?
Last episode, a lab tech working in the fertility clinic went missing. Her husband was frantic with worry when she did not come home. Upon investigation, they found her car in the parking lot, but there were no signs she had been there. Sherlock determined that the woman knew her attacker, which made the husband a suspect. But when they interrogated him, he revealed that as an oncologist, he had been helping his wife to cure her stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
A new lead took Sherlock and Lucy to a doctor at a local college who was working on stem cell research. It turned out the victim was supplying him embryos in exchange of using his lab in secret. She had been running blood tests on patients in a cancer group she was attending. She also discovered that her husband lied about her having cancer to advance his private practice. When she confronted him about it, he strangled her to death.
"Elementary" season 4 episode 6 will air on Dec. 17 at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.
