Both casual players new to the series and serious fans will be getting bonus content when they place pre-orders for the upcoming release of "The Elder Scrolls Online" for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
As what the publisher and developer did with the PC version's launch last year, the upcoming console versions of "The Elder Scrolls Online" will be getting freebies for pre-orders. Dubbed "The Explorer's Pack," the expansion freebie will introduce a host of new content to be made available for avid fans and casual players who would purchase the title as a pre-order. Most notably, the pack will allow players to choose from any race when creating a character.
In "The Elder Scrolls Online" title, players who choose to create a character from the three alliances in the game – Aldmeri Dominion, Daggerfall Covenant, and Ebonheart Pact – are restricted to races under each alliance. The races available for each alliance have their own strengths, weaknesses, and alliance bonuses. However, with the pre-order bonus, players can choose from any race outside of the chosen alliance. This will come in handy for those who have played "The Elder Scrolls" series before and are partial to a race not included in the selected alliance. In addition, players will be able to join a friend in other alliances without being particular about any race.
Aside from the customized character creation feature, "The Explorer's Pack" will also include a number of bonus treasure maps in hidden locations that will reward players with treasure chests with rare and exotic items, and a vanity pet named Warty the Scuttler.
After a lukewarm release marred with delays and a somewhat-stagnant run, the title is now shifting to a subscription-less gameplay and is rebranded as "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited". The title is scheduled to be released on June 9.
