'Elder Scrolls Online' release date in 2015, not 2014

Bethesda has not covered all of the work required to make "Elder Scrolls Online." Game director Matt Firor broke the news via the game's official website, saying that the highly-anticipated MMO for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles will not materialize this year and will instead hit shelves in 2015.

"As I've mentioned, we have been (and will continue to be) steadily working on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of ESO. They are playable and fun right now, but there's still some work to do before we can set an official launch date," Firor said in the blog post.

"First and foremost, we want to make sure that two of our most important systems still in development--the Justice and Champion Systems--are included in the console release. Those two systems will introduce a huge amount of content to the game, and we know everyone is looking forward to the new types of gameplay they provide," he added.

As per Game Spot, Bethesda is not simply in the middle of overhauling mere ports for the current-gen console versions of "Elder Scrolls Online." The game developer is very thoroughgoing in completing the Xbox and PS4 versions of the game to provide gamers the ultimate MMO experience. With a big task to fulfill, it will take more time to deliver. Nevertheless, Bethesda has always been realistic with deadlines as they remain constantly vocal with the possibility of a delay — a deadline that comes out of the desire to craft the best "Elder Scrolls Online" worthy of the wait and the six-month holdup it asked of fans.

According to Firor, they built the new user interface for the consoles from the ground up, taking into consideration the use of a controller.  And aside from the newly-added voice chat, players can also expect more features to be revealed by early next year.
