'Duck Dynasty' wedding: Brighton Thompson says God 'continually makes my brokenness beautiful'

Brighton Thompson calls her fiance Reed Robertson her 'absolute best friend.' (The Bright Wife Blog)

Who is "Duck Dynasty" star Reed Robertson's fiancée Brighton Thompson? The two got engaged last December in New York City's Central Park but have not announced their wedding date yet.

Everybody knows Reed is the son of Jase and Missy, but people know little of Brighton. To help introduce herself to "Duck Dynasty" fans, she created The Bright Wife blog and shared some interesting facts about herself.

Brighton was born and raised in Rayville, Louisiana. She is grateful to have a hardworking father and a mother who exemplifies what it is to be a good Christian woman.

But because her parents are divorced, Brighton says she has a huge family with "six siblings that are all intelligent, passionate, supportive, loyal, and most of all loving." Her siblings have children of their own now, so Brighton enjoys being cool Aunt B "to many beautiful nieces and nephews."

She first met Reed when she was still in 8th grade, but they only got together three years later when Reed asked her to be his girlfriend. After another four years, Reed finally proposed.

Brighton calls Reed her "absolute best friend," and she has so many praises for her soon-to-be husband. "He is honorable, kind, passionate, wise, loving (I could go on and on) and simply one of the greatest men I know. He is my knight-in-shining-armor and a pretty rockin' musician. If you haven't heard him, you should check him out! I could not imagine doing my life without him," she gushes.

While her family background and love story with Reed are all interesting, Brighton says nothing would ever compare to her relationship with God.

"The most important thing you should know about me is I believe everything I am is because of my Saviour, Jesus. He continually makes my brokenness beautiful. Without Him I am merely dust," she writes.
