'Dragon Ball Super' episode 47 spoilers: Episode to mark beginning of Future Trunks arc?

 Toei Animation

"Dragon Ball Super" is rumored to feature Future Trunks in its latest episode, 47. Various hints and speculations reveal that as this iconic character makes his way back into the present timeline, he's going to have a face-off against an opponent called Black Goku.

In previous episodes, Trunks returned to the future right after the conclusion of the tournament against Universe 6. However, according to Yibada, the newest episode, titled "New Chapter! An Obscure Enemy Appears," starts the plot for Akira Toriyama's Future Trunks arc. In the summary, Trunks comes back to the present time despite Cell's defeat. His purpose is still an enigma for viewers, but it's assured that this will be revealed as the series's progression gets to a certain point.

Kanzenshuu reported earlier this month that Toei has already revealed some teasers for this arc in Toriyama's recent interviews. He said:

"Next up in Dragon Ball Super, adult Trunks will be putting in his first appearance in a long time! I put together this story based on a suggestion from the editorial office...Despite being so strong, Trunks barely escapes from the future with his life. The future was supposed to be at peace, so what in the world could have happened?"

In the same interview, Toriyama also stated that the Future Trunks arc will also be the spark that ignites an epic battle that surpasses space and time involving the Omni-King and Kaioshin the God of Destruction. Also, viewers and fans can expect a lot of revelations as well. In any case, episode 47 will set the foundation for these events and is expected to air by June 12.

As for episode 46, it's expected to show the highly anticipated fight between Goku and a Vegeta impostor. Also, it might be possible that the real Vegeta's location will be revealed, so it's important to watch it by the time it airs by June 5.
