Game developers have been releasing patch updates for their games for improved performance and overall design, as well as to get rid of bugs and glitches. However, developer BioWare has more in store for players of the massive online fantasy game "Dragon Age: Inquisition."
Aside from introducing gameplay and performance fixes via the latest patch 8 update, the developer also rolled out new features to the game. Most notable among the new features is the additional multiplayer challenge, dubbed as the Nightmare difficulty. This new level is a step above the previous hardest level, Perilous. To even out the difficulty for the new level, patch 8 also introduces some new and rare high-level weapons, which include weaponry from the arsenal of the Avvar clans. In addition, there is a new T4 accessory added for multiplayer matches.
Meanwhile, as what BioWare had discussed in the patch notes, most of the improvements in the update also involves fixing multiplayer performance issues, such as accidental and intermittent screen reloading from the multiplayer menu when there is a quick match failure; the glitch regarding Reset Ability Points with a full inventory; and lags and downright screen freezes during high latency gaming matches.
The new update also unlocks the Proving Grounds, a tutorial level specifically tailored for multiplayer fanatics. When accessed from the class-selection screen, gamers can first test out their abilities and load-out per class before going onto live multiplayer matches.
Included in the new patch 8 update is a Save Importer feature. This additional option is for players who have "Dragon Age: Inquisition" on their PS3s and Xbox 360s and may want to upgrade to current-gen consoles. By using the Save Importer, players can then port their game saves to their new Xbox Ones and PS4s to continue playing, without having to start the game all over again. This feature is part of BioWare enticing players to migrate to current-gen consoles. Recently, the company has announced that it will be limiting future expansions of "Dragon Age: Inquisition" to current-gen systems.
