Game developer Bungie has already officially confirmed "Destiny's" upcoming DLC called "The Taken King."  In addition to confirming the launch date, Bungie also said that the expansion will have new content exclusive to its PlayStation version.

For a start, PlayStation Guardians over Level 20 can unlock complete gear sets, including helmets, chest pieces, and arm and leg gears for their classes. The Hesperos gear for Titans are based on the first astronauts to land on Venus and can withstand heat and pressure. Meanwhile, Warlocks can buy the Azoth Bend, giving the wearer more control over matter and energy. Finally, Hunters can don the Neuroghast, made from lightweight fieldweave, cytogel exowiring, and transcranial sensoria.

Aside from exclusive gear sets, the PlayStation version of "The Taken King" will also have a new exclusive weapon, Jade Rabbit. Not to be fooled by its cute Rabbit decal, the new exotic weapon is a long range Scout Rifle that brings accurate fire with a 13-shot magazine and advanced scope.

A new co-op Strike will also make its way to the new expansion. Called the Echo Chamber, this Strike pits Guardians against The Vex as they must prevent the Nexus Mind from being recalled from the past.

For new maps, there will be an additional exclusive version in the form of Sector 618. Accessed through the Crucible, this new map is set within the Cosmodrome reclaimed from the House of Wolves. The new map is a midsized arena with narrow side chambers and open center area. There are also narrow paths where Guardians can either lay siege or set traps for their enemies.

"The Taken King" is the third DLC for "Destiny," following "The Dark Below" and "House of Wolves."  The new expansion will be launched across all platforms on Sept. 15.
