As the Denver Broncos brace for Super Bowl 50 on Feb. 7, one New York Giant will be cheering for them as quarterback Eli Manning wants his older brother, Broncos star passer Peyton Manning, to win it all.
"He has not said anything to me about it," Eli said in a conference call, according to ESPN.
"But I think I kind of may think like everybody else, where you see this as possibly being the last game. I don't know if he knows himself or if he's thought about it. But when you get to Year 19 and you deal with some injuries and things going on ... it would be a good way to go out," the younger Manning continued.
The 35-year-old quarterback added, "I don't know if it is, but because of that possibility, I hope he can win this game. And if he decides to hang it up, he can go out on top."
Eli is a two-time Super Bowl winner both with the Giants, while Peyton has only won it once and it was during his time with the Indianapolis Colts.
Despite the desire that Peyton would win on Feb. 7, Eli believes that Super Bowl 50 is not going to define the career of his older brother, but the way he changed the game and the feats he accomplished will.
"I hope he can win, but his impact has already been made and his legacy, I don't think it should be affected by this one game," Eli stated.
Peyton has had a tough 2015 season and needed to miss six regular season games because of a foot injury.
But the 39-year-old quarterback bounced back strong, helping Denver close the regular season on top of the American Football Conference (AFC) and leading it to another Super Bowl.
The last time Peyton and the Broncos were in the Super Bowl was in the 2013 season when they battled the Seattle Seahawks, but fell short.
