'Dancing With the Stars' contestant Sadie Robertson says God keeps her calm before show performances

Sadie Robertson from "Duck Dynasty" reveals that her secret to calming her nerves before performances on "Dancing With the Stars" is simple: turning to God.

In a recent post in Instagram, she shared a photo of the Bible verses that inspire her in such situations: "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." (Exodus 14:14 NIV)

The other verse reads: "So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded." (Hebrews 10:35 NIV)

She said, "People always ask me what I do to calm myself down before the show & honestly I just let God give me advise, because his is ALWAYS the best."

Sadie has always been very vocal about her faith as she wants to represent the Christian values of her family, according to MovieGuide.

The 17-year-old reality star is following in the footsteps of "DWTS" alum Candace Cameron-Bure who mentioned her faith on the show multiple times. "I'm a Christian. My life revolves around my relationship with Jesus Christ. So with the overall tone of the dance and the costumes, I'm not going to take a backseat. My voice will definitely be heard."

Speaking of costumes, Sadie has her dad, Willie Robertson, as the "go to" man who approves her costume choices.

She said that despite the love from the fans and the compliments from the judges, she still relies on her father's guidance to keep her feet on the ground.

The father-daughter tandem is inseparable even though Willie stays back at home. They often reportedly video chat so Willie can give his approval to the designs.

For this week, Sadie wore a sequined mini-dress that was a touch more risque in comparison to previous costumes she had. However, Sadie told E! News that she loves the "fringe" design.

"It's going to be so much fun to dance in. The wardrobe team is amazing! They somehow outdo themselves every week!"

Even Sadie's conservative fans agreed with her choice for the week. One Twitter follower posted, "Sadie is just pure class, the Kardashians could only pray one day to be all class like Sadie. You go Sadie."

Sadie also referred to fellow Christian, Candace. She said Candace told her to "have fun and be yourself".

"I don't think it's going to come across as sexy. I'm going to go more for the cute look. I'm going to make it as classy as we can," Sadie said.

"DWTS" airs every Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
