'Dance Moms' season 6 update: Lifetime in search of new dancers and moms

Dance Moms season 5 Lifetime

Lifetime is on the lookout for talented youngsters and their moms who have what it takes to be part of "Dance Moms" season 6. Abby Lee Miller posted a photo on Instagram about the details of the casting call, which is scheduled on Sept. 12 in Los Angeles.

The casting will be conducted by Mystic Arts Pictures and registration is done through their website. Aspirants should be six to 12 years old and should be, along with their moms, available to film for 16 weeks spread across six months. Dancing prowess is the key to get picked.

The winning candidates will compete as part of a dance group in various dance competitions in and out of the country and will be trained under Miller. Of course, they will officially be part of "Dance Moms" season 6.

Aspirants need to complete an online questionnaire, and submit photos of both them and their moms, with dancing shots included. Videos that showcase their talents can also be submitted. The young hopefuls might also get the chance to audition in person in front of Miller and "Dance Moms" producers.

For a while now, there have been speculations that "Dance Moms" season 6 will not happen. This was after Miller revealed that Lifetime had yet to settle her pay for the previous season and after she said that she had seen the cast function without her.

However, this casting call confirms that "Dance Moms" season 6 will still proceed and Miller is still on board the drama, the dance, and the tension. There is no word yet as to who else is coming back or who might not, and no release date information has been disclosed, but what's sure is fans will welcome a new mom and child to the fold.
