Dallas Mavericks rumors: Full steam ahead for Chandler Parsons?

Chandler Parsons longs to have the dreaded minutes restriction lifted on him but if the last three games are any indication, it seems that such has already been taken out. Well, sort of.

Parsons has played over 30 minutes in some of the recent games of the Dallas Mavericks, although much of that has been achieved with the Mavs forward coming off the bench.

Parsons was originally being sent in for an average of about 24 minutes since coming back from hybrid microfracture surgery on his right knee. But lately, he has been playing more at more than 30 minutes per game.

He logged in 34 minutes against the Brooklyn Nets last Wednesday and 36 minutes against the Chicago Bulls last Saturday.

Seeing Parsons play a whole lot more could be a result of key players who are currently out. Deron Williams and Devin Harris are out right now due to injuries, perhaps forcing head coach Rick Carlisle to look at other options to pick up the slack.

Apparently, Parsons has responded well for Carlisle, although the head coach is still cautious about playing the 6-foot-10-inch forward in the mid-30 (minutes) mark.

For Parsons, the "minutes restriction" brouhaha is a bane but overall, he feels that if he is doing good (especially in close games) he could end up logging more minutes.

Right now, the Mavs need all the help they can get and Parsons is undoubtedly someone who can step up.

Will he get his starting job back soon? Right now, Carlisle prefers to wait and see. But as far as Parsons is concerned, it doesn't make a difference as long as he is able to contribute for the good of the team.

The Mavs currently hold an impressive 17–13 card, something many didn't really see coming. Many felt Dallas would not figure in the Western Conference, yet they are doing just fine even if they fell short in drawing in blue chip players.
