The Dallas Cowboys did not have the best of seasons in 2015 and are starting to address one of the issues that plagued them as wide receiver Dez Bryant is set to undergo surgery for his foot and ankle injuries.

Dallas was bitten by the injury bug a number of times in the 2015 National Football League (NFL) regular season.

In Bryant's case, he was already dealing with injuries even before the season began, missing almost all of the Cowboys' offseason preparation with a hamstring injury that came after a contract dispute with the team.

During the Cowboys' season opener versus the New York Giants, Bryant suffered a fractured fifth metatarsal which required surgery and a number of medical procedures that made him miss five games.

Because of Bryant's health woes, he was limited to nine regular season games, having 31 receptions for 401 yards and three touchdowns, which are all career-lows for him.

Now that the Cowboys were eliminated, the 27-year-old will have surgery to address the injuries that kept bothering him during the regular season.

According to ESPN, Bryant will have a bone graft added to his foot, a procedure he already underwent when he suffered the foot injury early in the season, and will also have the ankle "cleaned up."

Despite the surgery, the Cowboys are not expecting Bryant to miss their offseason program once they start to get ready for the 2016 season.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones already said before that the struggles Bryant had this season were brought upon by his absence in most of the team's offseason activity before the 2015 season.

After being hailed as National Football Conference (NFC) South champions in the 2014 season, the Cowboys ended this season last in the division with a lowly 4-12 record.

The Washington Redskins won the division with their 9-7 record and are heading to the Wild Card Playoffs.
