'Criminal Minds' season 11 spoilers: BAU takes on syndicate targeting DEA agents in episode 9

The NSA asks the BAU's help in the upcoming episode of "Criminal Minds." Facebook/CBS

The Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) will team up with the National Security Agency (NSA) to apprehend a group of dangerous killers in the upcoming episode of the CBS series "Criminal Minds."

In "Internal Affairs," TV.com reports that an underground drug syndicate is being suspected of the death of two undercover Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents. What makes the case difficult is that the group operates purely via the Internet, which makes tracing and apprehending it difficult. The BAU will be tapped by the NSA to work on this case, especially after learning that another agent has gone missing. Will the team be able to flush out the criminals?

Last episode, the BAU captured an UnSub who was using all forms of torture to keep his victims awake until they die. Two men were abducted in Phoenix and they must hurry to save them. But when the team arrived, one of them was already dead. The way he died, however, would hunt the hardened specialists until they die. The victim had been tortured beyond recognition. It was quite obvious he died a very horrible death. The other abductee was nowhere to be found.

Later on, the BAU came up with a profile for the killer. He was a white male in his 30s to 40s with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The UnSub was extremely unstable and he kills on compulsion. Eventually, they were able to track him down. It turned out the man's daughter was abducted when he fell asleep on the interstate. He said that a man with a skull tattoo knocked on his window and took her away.

He could not get over her loss and had been blaming himself ever since. As a form of punishment, he kidnapped men and tortured them to keep them awake. While the police thought the killer's claim of the tattooed abductor was a figure of his imagination, the BAU believed there was more to the case. Will the team be looking for the kidnapper soon?

"Criminal Minds" season 11 episode 9 will air Dec. 2 at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
