Before it was finally announced, one of the factors that the camps of both Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez had to resolve was the venue for their megafight. By now, many know that it will be held at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on Nov. 21.

Before the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas was agreed upon, the venue was one of the big issues. Cotto preferred to have it in New York, while Alvarez wanted it in Mexico City. Thankfully both ended up in a compromise, eventually settling for a neutral location in Las Vegas.

Or is it?

There are some who believe that the fight record of both fighters could very well indicate who will gain the venue advantage, although both Cotto and Alvarez don't care about it that much.

For Alvarez, he is 5–1 in Las Vegas, in which the lone loss was to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

On the other end, Cotto has been there many times and holds a 9–3 record. His last win came in 2011 when he knocked out Ricardo Mayorga in round 12.

Regardless of how both fighters have so far fared in the strip, both are not thinking much about who draws in more fans and supporters. All that both Cotto and Alvarez are concerned about right now is showing their best and proving who between the two is the better fighter.

The tiff is expected to be a blockbuster showdown, something that many feel would be better than the previous fight held in Las Vegas back in May. This is, of course, with reference to the much hyped Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao match, which as everyone knows was won by Mayweather handily.

The Cotto vs. Alvarez fight is something that has been in the making; and this early, many are expecting an action-packed bout. With both fighters known to go all out and aim for a knock out, it will be interesting to see who will come out the victor in this one.
