CM Punk UFC debut likely pushed back to 2016

For those eagerly awaiting the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut of former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champion CM Punk (Phil Brooks), it may not come in 2015. How about in 2016?

This could very well be the case after the UFC announced its "Go Big" launch, which features most of the UFC's biggest stars spread throughout the next six months. Doing the math and unless changes are made, the earliest possible yet unconfirmed time that Punk could get into the Octagon could be March or April at the earliest.

This could probably mean as well that Punk is not yet ready to compete in the UFC level, seeing that the transition from the WWE to the UFC is not something to be taken lightly. And with less updates lately from Punk himself, there are some who believe that his training could be insufficient for now as he tries to follow the footsteps of other WWE stars who made the UFC jump like Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley.

For those who are familiar with the mixed martial arts (MMA) style, it is apparent that taking a new step into a world far different from the world of wrestling entertainment is no easy task. And another constraint that some are taking into consideration is Punk's age. At 36, his transition to UFC becomes a pretty questionable move.

To recall, many were wondering why Punk would jump into the UFC bandwagon, although he has always been known to have the competitive spirit that could be egging him to do so. Punk is a mixed martial artist but apparently, it will take more than that if he is to go up against seasoned UFC fighters.

Whatever the case and reason behind the delay is obvious. Age and skills combined, Punk's intent to try his stuff in the Octagon does come with lots of questions. But then again, he would never know that until he tries.
