Veteran point guard Mo Williams is not looking to be traded and plans to stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers despite the reduced playing time he is given with star playmaker Kyrie Irving back from a knee injury.

Williams was linked to a number of trade rumors because his performance declined along with his numbers and playing minutes in Cleveland's past few games.

The 33-year-old point guard had a good start in his return for the Cavs, but a personal matter and injuries plagued him in December and the downhill slide began for him since then.

In three of their last four games, Williams did not see action and in the Cavaliers' most recent game, a 106–97 loss to the Charlotte Hornets last Wednesday, he only played 11 minutes.

Despite the recent setbacks, Williams is not looking to ask Cleveland to trade him, according to a report by Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com

Haynes said most players that are in Williams' situation will see a trade as the solution but not for the former second-round pick who said, "Nah, man. I've moved my family around enough. I'm sticking this thing out."

Williams re-signed with the Cavs for the veteran's minimum to reunite with LeBron James and have a chance at winning a championship, even if he could have just joined another team that could offer him a much lucrative deal.

FOX Sports mentioned in its report that staying in Cleveland makes the most sense for Williams.

Since the career of the one-time All-Star is nearing its end and the Cavaliers give him a legitimate shot of winning a ring.

In 30 games (14 starts) played for the Cavaliers this season, Williams is averaging 9.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 21.3 minutes played per outing.

Despite Williams not playing, the Cavs are still the best team in the Eastern Conference, having a 35–13 record.
