Church resources on love, sexuality and marriage coming out in November

The Bishop of Coventry, Christopher Cocksworth, has been leading the Living in Love and Faith process

Resources from the Church of England's Living in Love and Faith process are to be published in early November after being delayed due to coronavirus.

The resources are the result of a lengthy process within the Church of England exploring issues around identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage.

Their release had been scheduled for July but it was deferred when the country went into lockdown.

At a Zoom meeting on Wednesday, the House of Bishops agreed on a plan for the resources to be explored by bishops, dioceses, deaneries and local churches from the start of 2021.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, said it was important for the Church to move forward with publishing the resources.

"The Covid-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on all of us and none of us knows what challenges we will face in the months to come," he said.

"The LLF resources are about vital matters which affect the wellbeing of individuals and communities. That is why it is important for the Church to move ahead with publishing the resources as soon as possible.

"They will help the Church to live out its calling to be a people who embody the reconciliation of Christ as together we explore matters of identity, sexuality and marriage."
