A series of apparently deliberate hit-and-runs in Cardiff has left the community in shock.
One woman was killed and 11 others were injured after being hit by a van yesterday. The injured included seven children.
Police have arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of murder after the collisions in the Leckwith and Ely areas of the city during the Friday evening rush hour.
The Church of the Resurrection on Grand Avenue in Ely has opened its doors to support the community.
The Reverend Jan Gould said the community had been "deeply shocked" by the events.
She told the BBC that the church doors would remain open as long as people needed them to be.
"This is the most traumatic event I have ever known in ministry," she said.
"I was away from the parish today and heard it on the news and came straight to open up the church.
"Often at times like this people want to come in and reflect and light a candle. Words can't express what we feel."
Politicians and community leaders have also spoken of their shock over the incidents.
Cardiff Councillor Heather Joyce said her "thoughts and prayers" were with those affected.
Cardiff West MP Kevin Brennan told BBC Wales that the events were "tragic".
"My heart goes out to the victims," he said.
