Former contestant of The Bachelor Catherine Giudici received a lot of flak recently after she posted a fake pregnancy photo back on April Fool's Day.

Giudici is not actually pregnant but a lot of fans of she and Sean Lowe are eagerly waiting for them to get pregnant, so she thought it would be funny to push her tummy out as far as she could for a photo, post it on her Instagram account (@catherinegiudici) and caption it with "17 weeks."

The photo has received over 37,000 likes, and while a lot of people thought the joke was funny, there were many others who slammed Giudici as insensitive and disrespectful. Her husband even wrote on his blog that "there were a few who got really nasty and called her things that aren't worth mentioning."

Giudici has since shared a follow-up post, which is a cartoon drawing of a woman with a huge belly and a burger inside. Written beside her is, "Congratulations! It's a burger!"

Giudici captioned the photo: "I LOVE BURGERS! I LOVE PRANKS! I LOVE LIFE! About my earlier post, it was intended to be lighthearted and fun and certainly not insensitive. My heart goes out to all the women struggling with fertility."

Lowe echoes his wife's sentiments, saying that Giudici has a big heart for women who are struggling with fertility. When she recently found out that a friend of theirs lost her child in the womb, the tender-hearted Giudici was brought to tears.

"If you know anything about Catherine or have followed her for any length of time, then you know that she is one of the most caring, compassionate people you will ever meet. If you are one of those who are struggling with fertility, I promise Catherine's heart breaks for you," he said.
