Sean Lowe shares tips on how to make healthy eating more fun

Former Bachelor Sean Lowe has a strict fitness regimen in order to stay in shape, and while he has no problem exercising, he admittedly struggles with his diet.

"Sometimes eating healthy makes you want to jump off a cliff," Lowe wrote on his Patheos blog. "It can quickly become bland and tasteless and leave your tastebuds longing for flavour."

Whenever he starts a new fitness programme, Lowe likes to spend the first two weeks eating a controlled and calculated diet. "Those first couple of weeks are no fun but it does certainly jumpstart your metabolism and overall fitness routine," he said.

Because of his determination to stay fit, those two weeks of dieting are no problem for Lowe. But it's a completely different ballgame once the two weeks are over. On one hand, he likes to continue eating right, but on the other hand, he misses the "more tasteful" items on the menu.

"As you may know, Catherine and I are pretty much addicted to pizza. There's nothing better than a pizza and a movie on the couch after a long day. So how do I incorporate pizza into my new diet?" he asked.

Surprisingly, Lowe does it with cauliflower. When his wife first presented the idea of a cauliflower pizza, he was skeptical about the taste. But he was amazed how much he actually liked it, and he's happy that the tasty dish will help keep the fats off.

"The crust bakes thick and crispy giving a taste not so different from a dough pizza crust," he said.

Lowe warned people not to go overboard on the cheese, and that they should choose healthy toppings to accompany the cauliflower. Personally, Lowe likes having his with pizza barbecue sauce, grilled chicken, mushrooms, and some blue cheese.

"And although this is a very healthy alternative to a traditional pizza, I'd try to limit yourself to one or two per week tops," he said.
