Relationships in The Bachelor are real, says Sean Lowe

Most people are skeptical about the authenticity of reality television shows, including former Bachelor himself Sean Lowe. But since he met his wife Catherine Giudici on the show, Lowe insists the relationships formed in the show are real.

"The truth is they never tell you who to keep," he told ABC 13, referring to The Bachelor. "And I know reality TV for the most part is not real at all. I think The Bachelor is pretty authentic especially compared to other shows out there. If you put 25 women in one house it is going to make compelling TV."

What's difficult, according to Lowe, is shifting from the show and easing back to normal life. This is something the last Bachelorette Andi Dorfman and her now ex-fiancé Josh Murray also discovered. The two showed up during the season premiere of the latest Bachelor, only to break up three days later.

The Lowes themselves met the couple that night, and thought that everything was going well for them. "Oh I had no indication," says Lowe. "They were together and seemed fine, and I actually had breakfast with Josh the next morning. Relationships don't work and I realise in that setting more relationships are going to fail than succeed."

Lowe is truly one of the lucky ones from The Bachelor, since he found his happily ever after with contestant Giudici. The show started with a bevy of girls vying for Lowe's affections, but towards the end, he said that his wife really stood out.

"When you know you know, I know that's really cliché but there towards the end, Catherine was the only person I was thinking about," Lowe said.

The couple just celebrated their one year anniversary in January, and their relationship is only growing stronger.
