'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' Zombies mode release date news: Zombies mode to have a movie feel

 Activision

Much to the fans delight, a Twitter post made by the official "Call of Duty" game teased the Zombies mode for the upcoming futuristic FPS "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" game.

As seen in the tweet, it suggests that fans should grab the popcorn while anticipating the reveal, even going so far as to offer a countdown clock on a locked film cansiter, which strongly suggests that the Zombies mode will have more overt cinema motifs for the new "Call of Duty" game.

Gamescom 2016 will officially start Aug. 16, and it seems that "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" as well as other FPS games will use this European Expo to further promote their game. After all, this game's rival, DICE's "Battlefield 1," Bungie's "Destiny: Rise of Iron," and Respawn's "Titanfall 2" will be featured at this expo as well. With these powerful lineup in Gamescom 2016, a lot of fans are expecting Infinity Ward to produce an enthralling presentation to hype up the movie-themed Zombies mode for their upcoming game.

For now, the only thing people know is that this mode will feature hordes and hordes of shambling dead through this reveal. However, that does not mean that the developers have nothing more substantial planned in the coming weeks. According to Game Rant, this is the first time Infinity Ward has included zombies in one of its franchise titles, so it will be interesting to see how they will handle it. The only time they had ever come close to using horror in a sci-fi environment was with "Call of Duty: Ghost" in its Extinction mode, with Cryptids fighting off players. With the Zombies mode being handled by Infinity Ward, fans have high expectations.

"Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" will be released on Nov. 4 for the PS4, Xbox One and the PC.
