'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' season 3 spoilers: Boyle gets two love interests in new episodes

Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio) will not have one, but two leading ladies when Fox's series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" returns for its third season.

Entertainment Weekly has previously reported that the "earnest, hapless detective" will be given a romantic interest in the person of a successful art gallery owner named Genevieve (Mary Lynn Rajskub). Boyle will supposedly fall head-over-heels with her that after a short meeting, he will feel that she is his soul mate.

In a recent update released by Movie Pilot, it turns out that aside from sexy Genevieve, Boyle will also have to deal with Lt. Thakurta (Archie Panjabi), a vivacious cop "who knows how to get what she wants." Boyle is certainly going to have his hands and heart full trying to choose between the two women. Whom will he pick?

Meanwhile, fans of Jake (Andy Samberg) and Amy (Melissa Fumero) will be glad to know that the upcoming installment will focus on the brewing romantic energy between the two characters. Last season, the two admitted they have feeling for each other, but decided not to date. Their kiss, however, gave a different feel entirely, and it looks like the show is going to tap on that romantic vibe.

Producer Dan Goor revealed that while Jake and Amy's relationship will be front and center in season 3, it will not be easy for them. Their friendship is certainly complicated enough without the added pressure of romance. But they have been circling around each other for too long, fans cannot wait for them to end up together. Will they finally make up their mind and begin dating?

"It's not smooth sailing from here on out. They work together, they're different personalities. They kissed in a moment of trauma, and now they have to figure out what's happening," he said.

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 3 will premiere on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 8:30 p.m. EST on Fox.
