Boston Celtics trade rumors 2016: no current big trades for the team as of the moment

With the Boston Celtics able to grab hold with Miami Heat's shooting guard Gerald Green, rumors say that this team has thus hushed itself from talking about other trades.

According to Mobile & Apps, this recent deal has debunked the rumors surrounding the OKC Thunder's Russell Westbrook, the LA Clippers' Blake Griffin, or the Philadelphia 76ers' Jahlil Okafor being traded to this team. Furthermore, it is also possible for the team to stop looking for more players in the upcoming NBA season.

The same article points out that Danny Ainge, the General Manager for the Celtics has revealed that the team currently has no pending big trades, at least for the coming weeks though he has not shut down the possibility of accepting new players, should the situation arise. After all, a lot of fans agree that the Celtics are still unprepared to lose players to ensure big trades.

Boston Herald reports that Ainge is not taking his chances, since he thinks that there are no guarantees for these players to remain after the upcoming season ends. However, regardless of the stalwart rumors that the Celtics will avoid spending too much, some still think that they might enter a deal with the 76ers to get Okafor and further strengthen their roster.

As the things currently are, the Celtics already guaranteed or at least guaranteed money tied to 17 players. Mass Live reports, however, that Boston could pay for a couple of players that would not be included on the roster, but it still seems that the Celtics will still aim for some type of move as time will progress. Otherwise, it does not make sense to sign up players that would not receive any play time or even make it into the team's roster.

Regardless, the Celtics should not be counted out for the trade season, since they might still have some tricks up their sleeve.
