'Boruto' manga release rumor: plot to continue from 1st movie adaptation?

It is already confirmed that there will be a new manga that will feature new adventures in the "Naruto" world. However, instead of a direct continuation of Uzumaki Naruto's story, the new manga will feature his son, Boruto, and a new generation of Konoha ninjas.

However, aside from a confirmed release period, not much is known about how the new story will unfold.

According to Breathe Cast, most of the story, although centered on Boruto, will also develop the other new characters in the series. Allegedly, the new manga will also focus on Uchiha Sarada, Sasuke's daughter and a team member of Boruto.

In a spin-off continuation in the original "Naruto" manga adaptation, Sarada has already decided to become Hokage someday and resolved to develop her powers to become as powerful as Naruto, the Seventh Hokage. In addition, the new manga may also focus on Sarada's further development of her Sharingan, since the previous spin-off film "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" also highlighted this fact.

Meanwhile, it may be that the manga will continue where the first "Boruto" movie left off as the planned sequel will be reportedly canceled. According to MNR Daily, the sequel to "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" will be shelved in favor of another "Naruto" spin-off series, which will deal with Itachi's backstory. Allegedly, the new anime adaptation, "Naruto Shippuden: Itachi Shinden," is in the pipeline, set to be confirmed this coming March. Reportedly, the new TV show will show Itachi, Sasuke's older brother, in his journey from a model Konoha ninja to a wanted criminal-member of Akatsuki.

Should the rumor be proven true, then it may well be that the new "Boruto" manga will be the replacement for the movie sequel, and a new film with new characters and story will take place in the future.
