Allegiances will prevail in the expected clash between Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) and Angela (Michaela Conlin) when the long-running FOX series "Bones" returns for season 11B.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the couple's friends will not be able to stop themselves from taking sides when things become difficult for them. Executive producer Michael Peterson said in his interview that Hodgins' condition would also take its toll on everyone in the Jeffersonian, especially when he starts getting "to his dark places." During the fall finale, an explosion robbed the specialist of his ability to walk. Although Aubrey (John Boyd) was able to shield him from most of the blast, Hodgins' spinal cord got injured, resulting to him being paralyzed from the waist down.

Spoilers report that Hodgins will not take his new predicament easily, as depression gets the better of him. He will be turning away from the people who love him and even feel anger for those who express sympathy for what happened. One person who will feel the brunt of his short temper is his wife Angela. It will get so bad even Brennan (Emily Deschanel), Booth (David Boreanaz), and the rest of their friends will also be affected. As expected of family, which the Jeffersonian is, there will be times when they will feel overprotective of either Hodgins or Angela.

"There will be times when people fall on different sides of the line. There are different allegiances that are going to happen. But this is the Bones show. We always try to aim toward a happy ending eventually. But we certainly will put everyone through the wringer," Peterson said.

The executive producer also shared an interesting spoiler of what's to come for season 11B. He said that some of the upcoming episodes would be "darker," especially when a new serial killer is introduced. This criminal has killed before, during the time when Brennan and Booth were taking a hiatus from their work at the Jeffersonian. Viewers could expect that they would have chills watching him kill, as he would be doing for several episodes.

Bones" season 11 is expected to return in 2016, but FOX has yet to announce a specific return date.
