Hodgins' (TJ Thyne) rejection of Angela (Michaela Conlin) will push her to seek comfort in another man's arms when the long-running FOX series "Bones" returns for the second half of season 11.

The explosion rendered Hodgins paralyzed from the waist down during the midseason finale. The show's executive producer Michael Peterson hinted to TV Guide that it will be a long time before he can walk again. While this might suggest there is still hope of Hodgins, the road to recovery will be a brutal and emotional journey for him. Hodgins became incapacitated just right after he and Angela finally decided to have children. Thyne said in his interview that this is where most of his character's anger at the world would stem from.

According to the actor, Hodgins will feel he's "incapable" and "incompetent" of providing his wife the one thing she wanted most. This will make him quick-tempered, as he will take out his frustration on the people around him, especially on Angela. For her part, Angela will try to understand what her husband is going through. However, his continued rebuff of her help would reportedly push her to find comfort from someone else. This is where her photography coach Sebastian (Gil Darnell) comes in.

"Angela's going to need a shoulder to lean on. We'll play with some tensions that perhaps she's relying on Sebastian a bit too much. For her, Sebastian is this alternative life. She has this wonderful life with Hodgins and she's very happy, but there is this alternative life of adventure and being an artist and traveling all over the world, and he represents that," Peterson said.

In the past, Angela wanted to move to France and leave the Jeffersonian. She decided to stay, though, because Hodgins did not want to relocate. While she did not regret her decision before, Sebastian will serve as a reminder of the things she gave up for her marriage to work. The fact that her relationship with Hodgins is not exactly going right at the moment will also serve as catalyst for her to look back at the things she missed. Will she and Hodgins ever overcome this hurdle?

"Bones" season 11 is expected to return in 2016, but FOX has yet to announce a specific return date.
