The Mobile World Congress 2016 is on its last day and many BlackBerry fans are still hoping that the company will unveil their Vienna, the rumored new Android smartphone by the company.
Thus far, very little is known about the BlackBerry Vienna. It is expected to be a 5-inch phone with a 1080 pixel resolution and relatively cheaper than the Priv, according to TechNewsToday. It added that the phone will have a main camera with LED flash and a secondary camera. It also said that an expansion slot will be on the phone, and it will have four different colors for consumers to choose from.
ValueWalk reported that the BlackBerry Vienna could still be having a 1.8 Ghz dual-core processor paired with a 3GB RAM, and an 18MP rear-facing camera that comes with an LED flash. It is also rumored to have a non-removable battery and a charging port on the left-hand side of the phone.
There are also reports that the Vienna may be a mid-range phone since BlackBerry is still making baby steps in coming back to the world of smartphone.
Sometime in November last year, Crackberry published some rendered images, said to be of the BlackBerry Vienna. Based on the images, the company's next Android phone will have its classic bar phone design, containing an ever-present physical keyboard and Google's operating system.
In an interview with Fox Business last November, BlackBerry CEO John Chen said that the company is planning to release two phones come 2016. Many BlackBerry fans are now wondering if they will be seeing these before the MWC event brings down its curtains.
The company's current Android phone, the BlackBerry Priv, is a 5.4-inch phone that offers an AMOLED display capable of 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. It is powered by the Snapdragon 808 that comes with an Adreno 418 GPU and a 3GB RAM. A 32GB internal storage is available but it can be expanded up to 2TB thru its microSD slot. The Priv also houses an 18MP main camera, a 2MP secondary camera and a capacitive touch four-row keyboard that slides out from underneath.
