Billy Graham's fallen grandson Tullian Tchividjian files for divorce from wife Kim

Weeks after he admitted having cheated on his wife, Billy Graham's grandson Tullian Tchividjian lost his position at the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

He then filed for divorce from his wife Kim in Broward County, Florida, according to Christian Headlines. Little is known about Tchividjian's divorce papers, but it is known that under Florida law, one party must establish that the marriage is "irretrievably broken" for the union to be officially dissolved.

Tchividjian and his wife were married in 1994 and have three children together.

According to Tchividjian, Kim was the first to engage in an extramarital affair. When Tchividjian found this out, it broke him. He subsequently developed feelings for another person, and they later got caught in the web of an adulterous relationship. "As her affair continued, we separated. Sadly and embarrassingly, I subsequently sought comfort in a friend and developed an inappropriate relationship myself," he admitted.

"Both my wife and I are heartbroken over our actions and we ask you to pray for us and our family that God would give us the grace we need to weather this heart-wrenching storm," he added. "We are amazingly grateful for the team of men and women who are committed to walking this difficult path with us."

When sought for a statement regarding his divorce, Tchividjian failed to give any. The resigned pastor earlier admitted to fighting bouts of depression and insecurity on his Facebook page, but he has still committed to sharing his tumultuous journey so as to inspire people with God's grace.

"The Gospel frees me to let you see me at my worst — the me that runs away, the me that doesn't want to pray, the me who gets angry at God, the me who rationalises, the me that knows I'm solely to blame for my sinful choice but who wants to blame others," he said.
