'The Big Bang Theory' season 9 spoilers: Amy not keen on finding another man

Will Sheldon and Amy get back in season 9? CBS

"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 starts next month but it is undoubtedly a long wait for those who want to know what's next for Amy and Sheldon. Before season 8 ended, the former called it quits and the latter looked sadly at a ring fans speculate to be an engagement ring he got for his lady love.

At the moment, there's still no assurance that the two will be back in each other's arms. There's also no concrete sign that the couple is no more.

Executive producer Steve Molaro won't give any clue although he said during a chat with Entertainment Weekly, "Right now, [Amy] really wants to take a step back and think about where she is, where they are and how she wants to move forward in her life. I don't think she's necessarily in a rush to find another man, but I don't think she's ruling it out either."

According to Carter Matt, it helps Sheldon to be heartbroken for once as it is likely the only way — and the most painful way at that — for him to appreciate what great things he really has.

In "The Big Bang Theory" season 8 finale, it was revealed that Sheldon has been keeping a ring. However, Mayim Bialik, who plays Amy in the series, already warned fans not to jump to conclusions.

In an interview with LA Times last month, she argued, "We don't know what he was planning to do with it ... We don't know if it was something he got from his mother. We don't know what the process was by which he acquired that and what he would think to do with it."

Whatever the ring means, Molaro said that it will be revealed on the premiere episode of "The Big Bang Theory" season 9, scheduled to air on Sept. 21.
