'Better Call Saul' season 3 spoilers: Gus Fring is pivotal to Jimmy turning into Saul Goodman

The third season of AMC's "Better Call Saul" may finally see small-time lawyer Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) turn into his "Breaking Bad" persona Saul Goodman this season.

After he confesses to committing a crime to save his brother Chuck (Michael McKean) from being committed to a mental institution, it is speculated that this will push Jimmy to the dark side to adopt his new persona, the go-to lawyer of the underground elements, Christian Post reported.

According to Odenkirk, he would like more interactions between his character and Jonathan Banks' character Mike Ehrmantraut. Odenkirk said that he always gets a burst of energy working opposite a great talent like Banks.

Meanwhile, fans have been anticipating the appearance of iconic "Breaking Bad" character Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) after they deciphered the easter egg that producers hid in the initials of the season 2 episode titles.

While show creator Vince Gilligan admitted that they were just about to make the reveal through a tweet, they were surprised that the fans already figured the message out by themselves. The initials of the episodes actually spelled out the words "Fring's Back" which let the cat out of the bag that the show was bringing back the popular character.

However, he warned that because of the nature of Fring's character, he might not immediately come out of the shadows and bide his time before he appears. Aside from this fact, Esposito has a whole slew of ongoing projects, which could make it hard for him to tape episodes for the show.

On the other hand, a report by Game and Guide hinted that Fring will play a pivotal role in Jimmy's transformation. The report indicated that Jimmy, reeling from the betrayal of his brother, will be approached by the drug mogul to run his drug empire.

It is said that left with no choice and wanting to save himself, Jimmy will accept the offer, leading the way for his shift to Saul Goodman.
