Bethany Hamilton says burping a baby not that simple as she shows how she does it

"Soul Surfer" Bethany Hamilton might have proclaimed that parent life is a breeze, but there is actually one thing she admittedly struggles with—burping a baby!

On her Instagram account (@bethanyhamilton), the dedicated Christian surfer shared a photo of her trying to burp her newborn baby Tobias Dirks. "Burping a baby is not as simple as you may think! My husband is the master and I follow in his footsteps," she captioned the photo.

Hamilton's many fans and supporters voiced agreement with the new mom. One fan wrote: "I didn't really get the hang of it until baby number 2 came. It'll come with practice! You're a wonderful mama!" Other fans said Hamilton already "looks like a pro at being a mother."

"I love what you're doing. You're (doing) a great job with Tobias. Keep it up," a fan wrote.

Aside from motherhood and surfing, Hamilton is keeping herself busy reading the novels of J.R.R. Tolkien, the author of "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit." It is actually Hamilton's husband Adam Dirks who is hooked on the fictional world of Middle Earth. But when they saw the trilogy recently, Hamilton could not help but get hooked as well.

Weeks after giving birth to Tobias, she posted a photo of "The Hobbit" book together with a steaming hot beverage and wrote, "Morning tea and read. My husband is a Lord of the Rings nerd, we recently watched the trilogy (I had not seen it). It was so good! Now I'm on to reading The Hobbit!"

Tolkien's books have been translated into films, which were all directed by Peter Jackson. "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy wrapped up several years ago, while the final installment for "The Hobbit" trilogy called "The Battle of the Five Armies" was shown in 2014.
