Already making headlines by being the distributor for the high-grossing and successful limited-release anime film "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'," FUNimation Entertainment surprises fans anew with a one-two punch, this time laying out the theatrical dates for the live-action film adaptation of another manga hit, "Attack on Titan."

Distributed outside of Japan by FUNimation Entertainment, the live adaptation movie "Attack on Titan" is divided into two parts, the first part having made its world premiere in selected theaters in Los Angeles, California last month.

The distributor laid out the schedules and other information for the full "Attack on Titan" movie. With the movie being a limited release in both the U.S. and Canada, the first part of the film, "Crimson Bow and Arrow," will roll out in theaters on Sept. 30. Meanwhile, the second film of the two-part adaptation will arrive three weeks later, on Oct. 20.

FUNimation Entertainment anticipates a successful reaction from the anime fanbase, particularly on the wake of the successful release of other recent anime films distributed by FUNimation.

"Fan reaction to Attack on Titan was extremely positive at the world premiere and we're pleased to be able to announce dates for the theatrical releases in September and October," said CEO and company president Gen Fukunaga. "Attack on Titan is a worldwide phenomenon and we are excited to bring the live action movies to not only fans of the manga and anime but also horror fans as well from across the U.S. and Canada."

Based on the runaway success "Shingeki no Kyojin," "Attack on Titan" first started as an anime adaptation, and with the first season finished, viewers are waiting to see what would happen to the post-apocalyptic world where human beings are living in walled cities, afraid of being run over by gigantic beings called Titans.

Series director Tetsuo Araki and creator of the original manga Hajime Isayama collaborated for the live adaptation of the series. Meanwhile, the second season for the anime adaptation is scheduled for release next year.
