Asus ZenFone 2 Deluxe, ZenFone 2 Laser unveiled in India

 Asus Pressroom

One of the most popular phones in the Asus lineup is its newly-launched ZenFone 2. It is so popular that the company came up with two more versions under the ZenFone 2 lineup.

Unveiled first in the Indian smartphone market is the ZenFone 2 Deluxe. The smartphone features a textured diamond-cut back panel that adds a more premium, 3D-like design to the ZenFone 2. The textured back also serves as a convenient palm grip for users.

The device also offers a 5.5-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution, a 64-bit Atom processor and 4 GB of RAM. In addition, it also features a 13 MP main shooter at the back and a 5 MP front camera, dual SIM active options, and LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity. The new ZenFone 2 variant also comes with a 3000 mAh battery and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop right out of the box.

The ZenFone 2 Deluxe comes in 64- and 128-GB variants. No prices or global market releases were mentioned in the unveiling, and Asus chief Jonney Shih stated that the focus of the unveiling is the Indian market.

"We are very excited to bring our latest ZenFone models and all-new ZenPad Series to the Indian market," Shih said. "These brand-new innovations are each an empowering luxury that strikes the perfect balance of beauty, functionality and performance, and offers Indian consumers a premium user experience tailored to their individual mobile needs."

Aside from the Deluxe, the presentation also showcased other upcoming products under the ZenFone 2 lineup. One of the variants, the ZenFone 2 Laser, is a budget-friendly variant of the ZenFone 2. However, the three versions (5.0 inches, 5.5 inches and 6 inches) will all have Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. In addition, the ZenFone 2 Laser will also sport a powerful 13 MP PixelMaster shooter that is able to shoot high-resolution images with zero shutter lag.
